Luis Scola should be the core of the Houston Rockets

All of us have seen the gap between the Rockets and their rivals in the first Rockets game. Their rivals have superstars, they really couldn’t do anything: Aldridge and Roy enjoy their game for fear of not being able to show that the Portland Trail Blazers have completed their metamorphosis in Game 1. The absence of the Rockets superstars is not the lack of a source of spiritual power and fighting spirit for the other players, but the loss of the old family feeling. Despite playing so many preseason games, as they head into the regular season, the Rockets still need some time to adjust. Of course, the cost of sheet music is more reasonable.

While it is time to face the Warriors, you must understand that these two teams are on the same level. They have no absolute height, nor do they have a solid defense that is as firm as a rock; both have their own desire for victory that depends on speed and long shots; in the vast majority of offensive rounds, they both only pass the ball once or twice or directly drive the ball to the basket. This type of competition will certainly be very exciting; you couldn’t find out who is stronger until the last moment of the game; but thinking about yesterday’s game between the Cavaliers and Celtics, you will understand that the technical content of this competition is really not that high. For the Rockets, the real crop should be a message: Before Tracy McGrady returns, Adelman should make it clear who can become the Rockets’ core.

All competitions are like two armies against each other, what the coach needs is a pioneer who does not need to be very wise, but must be very decisive and confident, like Brooks and Trevor Ariza. Both men have tried their best, with the ideal data, the two together help the Rockets finish with high marks. Brooks 18 points 12 assists, Trevor Ariza 25 points 5 rebounds 5 assists 2 starts and a block shot. However, behind such a nice piece of data, do you remember how many times Brooks delayed the Rockets’ offensive opportunities? The act of only passing the assist ball has always been seen as a selfish embodiment on the part of the coach. These two vanguards have the ability to fight inside their rivals, but they cannot become the core of the team. By the way, yesterday the Rockets had 18 turnovers, Trevor Ariza six times, Brooks five times.

Every army needs logistics units to escort army supplies, Chuck Hayes and Shane Battier are the team’s support staff. The strength they showed on the defensive end is really the Rockets’ bottom line. In the constant running and blitz, if they aren’t the ones personally ruling out the offense to restrain their opponents, the Rockets were tough to win in the opening. As for young Landry, Lori, and Chase Budinger, they can successfully become Legatus, when given the right to offend, they won’t let you down.

I’ve excluded one by one, but maybe you mentioned early on who will be the core of the Rockets before Tracy McGrady returns, that is, Luis Scola. You can’t let him fight LaMarcus Aldridge, who has never been his strong point, yesterday 3 points 4 rebounds 1 assist 3 turnovers 2 blocks and 4 fouls are the proof. But the newly promoted captain of the Argentine national team has great awareness, magnificent steps, a stable offensive rhythm and excellent defensive ability; in yesterday’s game he had thoroughly demonstrated all of this. If Brook passes most of the ball to Luis Scola to let him drive, I’m sure the Rockets can beat the Warriors by at least 10 points. Scola is one of two Rockets players who didn’t make mistakes.

I don’t know if Adelman would think back to his Sacramento era to see Luis Scola perform, if he happens to be interested in Princeton again, or even that he might invite the founder of Princeton tactics, Pitt Carroll, and then establish Scola as the rocket core, it’s worth all of us taking a look.
