Move over MLM! Now there’s something meatier

Do your friends run the other way when they see you? Screen your calls? Have you invited a bald co-worker to an opportunity meeting only to be told that he had to stay and wash his hair? Are you spending more on autoship than is currently being sent to your wallet? If any of these situations sound familiar to you, you may have infectious emeleminosis. Emeleminosis (em-el-eminosis) is nothing to be ashamed of and there is help. In my quest to eradicate emeleminosis, I searched the internet hoping to guess the answer… I’ve listed a few finds below.

Anyone who has been in the network marketing industry for any length of time has seen how it evolves from presenting at the Denny’s table with your friends and neighbors to sponsoring people on the other side of the world at the click of a button. The Internet is amazing because it makes marketing, prospecting, training, and sponsorship “simple” and gives those who master their skills virtually unlimited reach. This sounds like MLM utopia, isn’t it? For a time it was. If you got to the party early and brought your downlines, you made a ton of money. Ah… but there is a dark side, Luke! Joe MLM’er in the fifth row from him now has the ability to see and interact with reps from thousands of different opportunities all the time…let’s call them “pretty brilliant stuff.” He is promised a higher placement, is invited to participate in a “pre-launch” or will enter a 2×2 forced matrix just below his friend with a downline of 10,000 people. Unlike the days when there was some degree of brand loyalty, now 98% of people who fail in MLM are sure that it has nothing to do with their personal activity and EVERYTHING to do with the opportunity they have created. elected, when they entered and who sponsored them.

They are right? Yes and no. Many of them would have failed if they had been one of the first representatives to sign up with Amway. No system can make up for a lack of execution. But aside from that, how can you earn serious residual income from a company when all of your reps are bouncing around looking for the magic MLM that will change everything in their lives? It will be difficult. And when 4,000 people leave your downline and your residual goes from 15k per month to 3k, chances are you’ll jump on the next big thing and try to drag your downline with you. Remember, MLM is all about residual income. In order to earn this residual income, the downline must remain intact.

Then what do you do? The logical solution is to find a system, product or service that allows you to generate the income you want WITHOUT requiring you to support thousands of people. That’s it! There are plenty of options these days, including top-tier opportunities and affiliate marketing. I could write forever about the different premium and affiliate marketing opportunities available, but there is already a wealth of information about both on the internet. Do your research and find out what the top earners in the internet marketing industry are doing, not just the top earners in your current MLM. Also make sure the product is solid AND that you can make a living without thousands of other entrepreneurs selling for you. As for traditional MLM… if you’re passionate about a particular MLM product or service, just take a little cash and, as Gordon Gekko says, “Put it on the dog with the least fleas.” That is, get involved in MLMs that won’t require too much of your time but will reward you with the products and relationships you appreciate. Don’t let MLM stop you from reaching your financial potential.

Good luck and if you remember, if you liked this post, please share it!

I wish you a mountain of success
