10 of the fastest ways to clear a stuffy nose

If you don’t know how to stop a stuffy nose, all you need to do is try some of the techniques below and you will surely find some relief.

Step 1: keep your head elevated. When in bed, be sure to use more than one pillow so that your head is raised. This is done so that mucus does not build up in your sinuses and allows your nose to dry out. Standing or walking can also help clear your nose.

Step 2: Use a hair dryer. Turn on the hair dryer and breathe in its hot air. The idea is similar to covering your face with hot towels. The hot air will thin the mucus. This is similar to being in a sauna without increasing the temperature of the whole body.

Step 3: Buy products like Tiger Balm that contain high levels of menthol and camphor. Vicks VapoRub can also be used, but Tiger Balm is much better. Rub it gently on the nose, chest, and throat area. Tiger balm can make the skin warm and red, but it is not dangerous. The steam that comes out of the menthol and camphor will warm the face and nose, so that the respiratory tract will be more relieved.

Step 4: Use a nasal spray. The spray works very well and will not go down your throat. Sprays can be easily found in supermarkets and pharmacies. However, keep in mind that the use of many sprays is only a short-term solution, because they are addictive.

Step 5: Use elements that stimulate the smell. Drizzle some essential oils, such as peppermint, eucalyptus, or rosemary on a tissue and breathe in the scent. You can also sprinkle peppermint oil on the underside of your nose. The smell may burn, but it will help relieve a stuffy nose.

Step 6: Use vinegar mixed with hot water. Add vinegar to the water, bring to a boil, and then smell the fumes. Beware of strong smell and itchiness.

Step 7: Cough drops. This is just a reminder. Today, cough drops come in a wide range of flavors, so you will almost certainly find some that you like.

Step 8: massage the bridge of the nose. Massage the area between the eyebrows and the bridge of the nose. This will help dissolve the mucus. Repeat the massage as many times as necessary.

Step 9: Chew gum. Chewing gum, especially with a peppermint scent, will help soothe your nose. This activity can be done anywhere and without side effects. The only downside is that if you wear braces, this may not be for you.

Step 10: open your vehicle window. Slightly open your vehicle window when driving. This may be less convenient than using the air conditioner or heater, but you need to replace the air inside your vehicle that will provide fresh air to your nose.
