I wasn’t born creative. So how do I write articles?

Were you born creative? Does creativity just spring from you or do you have days where new ideas don’t magically pop into your head? Do you have days when creativity seems like a distant past? Wouldn’t it be amazing if you could quickly create a sales copy or chapter for that book you want to write? I have good news for you. Read on to learn my simple technique. Then try it for yourself.

“But I wasn’t born creative.” I can hear you say.

No matter.

Creativity develops over time and repetition. If you want to be more creative at something, you just have to do it more often. Let me explain what I mean.

Let’s say you want to write an article. You have no idea what you want to write about. Well, you have your keywords and your niche, but what do you actually write?

This is what I do and it has always worked.

1. I spend an hour reading about that topic online. I usually find a forum and then a link from that forum to some kind of information page that gives answers to questions people are asking. Got some fuel for the fire! You need some information and you shouldn’t just suck ideas off your thumb.

2. I open my computer and open a blank document.

3. I pick up the phone and make sure my internet is off so I can’t get any new messages.

4. I set a timer for 30 minutes and start writing.

5. I don’t stop. I don’t stop to edit. I just write

6. After 30 minutes, I get up and have a cup of coffee and walk around a bit.

7. I go back to my writing and edit it for the first time.

8. Depending on the topic or how many mistakes I make on the first draft, I re-edit it three or four times.

9. I make sure to write like this for at least 30 minutes a day. If I have more time in my day. I write more. But I never write for more than 30 minutes unless my creativity is really flowing.

I used to hate writing. In fact, she was afraid to write. English was not my strong point at school, but I knew that she had ideas and stories that she wanted to write down. After months of staring at a blank page and feeling so frustrated, I started writing about my frustrations in a journal. The more I wrote, the more fun I had. I’ve always been good at writing letters and emails, so I thought if I could start writing as if I were writing to someone, it would be a lot easier.

So forget your fears and start writing. Get into the habit of writing nonstop for 30 minutes a day. The moment you break through that wall of fear, your creative juices will really start to flow.

This little system really worked for me and I know it can work for you. How can I say that with such confidence? Because most people who have this writing phobia don’t really even try to start writing.

If you’re really frustrated and nothing is going your way, go for a walk. Exercising can do wonders for your thoughts. Exercise improves blood flow, which carries oxygen to the brain. As you walk, you’ll have a change of scenery and give your brain a break from thinking about the problem.

Last but not least, don’t forget that you are writing for real people. People who write informative articles can get so caught up in writing an article with the intention of trying to sell something. They forget that real people are reading the article. The real reason behind putting such information on the Internet is to inform and help people. Be sure to connect with your reader and give them some helpful tips.
