Miami Playa is a small purpose-built complex 20 km from Salou and 120 km from Barcelona in the autonomous community of Catalonia. Which is located in an enchanting backdrop between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. There is 12 km of coastline with some of its beaches regularly receiving the coveted blue flag awarded for cleanliness and respect for the environment. This part of the Costa Dorada enjoys a moderate climate throughout the area with the highest temperatures reaching a refreshing mid to late 20 degrees Celsius. If we add to that the 300 days of sunshine it receives, there are fewer things to bother you during that well-deserved swim on the Costa Dorada. And if you get a little thirsty, a short walk to one of the many bars is just a stone’s throw away.

For those who want to engage in more active ventures, there are a host of water sports such as surfing, sailing, water skiing, and the more relaxing sport of fishing. On the mainland there is golf, tennis and squash. To explore the area you can ride a bicycle or horse or simply go on foot and explore the mountain trails. Of which the views below are simply stunning.

There are also the theme parks located in Port Aventura, which take about 15 minutes by car. These are great for families with lots of fun for the kids with featured shows, attractions and stages in different locations around the world including Polynesia, China and Mexico. There is also a set based on the Wild West. The water park next door also offers rides and has a lagoon named after the famous cartoon character Woody Woodpecker which is very colorful and fun to play in.

There are nearby shops that will help you fill out that gift list or you can venture to one of the nearby towns such as historic Tarragona which dates back to Roman times and still has remains that remind us of that past. Or you can visit the Delta del Ebro area, wetlands dedicated to birds of all varieties, which have made this habitat their own.

There are three airports that could effectively bring you closer to your destination in Miami Playa. These are Barcelona International, Reus and Girona. Barcelona International can offer the best flight deals, but consider how much it will cost to cover the rest of the trip and how convenient they are. There are also cheap flight companies that travel to Reus and Girona. Transfers, such as shuttle services and car rentals, can be booked in advance at the same time that airline tickets are booked. This is highly recommended, especially to ensure you have made the correct arrangements and understand the costs. Taxis, as usual, can always be taken at the airports themselves.
