Tampons and infertility: any connection?

Have you ever taken the time to wonder why a society that spends so much on healthcare and has access to the best healthcare in the world is being invaded by a massive increase in disease? Why do 20% of women of childbearing age suffer from endometriosis, some cases so severe that they cause infertility? Endometriosis could be one of the high prices paid for using tampons. Do you know that the use of tampons can have a detrimental effect on your health and fertility? Endometriosis, a condition in which the lining of the uterus begins to grow outside the uterus, has been linked to dioxin.

Dioxins are toxic chemicals that are generally a by-product of plastics and chlorinated products and have been reported to be one of the deadliest man-made chemicals, second only to radioactive waste. Dioxin can be found in items that have been bleached (mainly items made from wood pulp and chlorine) and tampons fall into this category and are called rayon. Chemicals involved in tampon production include dioxins, caused by bleached rayon, alcohol, and additives.

Endometriosis could be one of the high prices paid for tampon use, as recent studies have shown that animals that are exposed to dioxins develop endometriosis and therefore the link that endometriosis is increasing among women . Another study, ‘Dioxin concentrations in women with endometriosis’, Human Reproduction 12: 373-375, (1997) found that infertile women with endometriosis had detectable levels of dioxins present in their bodies, unlike fertile women without endometriosis.

Tampons made of rayon and placed in the vagina for a long time can also be a breeding ground for Staphylococcus Aureus, a germ attributed to Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS). Although TSS can be caused by other things, tampon use has been attributed to 50% of all cases.

Furthermore, tampons are suspected of playing a key role in women’s infertility problems by supporting the blood clots of women who use them. A tampon absorbs blood, the clot would not be absorbed. Depending on how long the tampon is left in, it could push the clot into the fallopian tubes, and if the tampon is eventually removed, the clot could either leave the body on its own or clot in the tubes, which could cause endometriosis to form. .

If you are planning to get pregnant, it is advisable not to use tampons, rather consider switching to disposable or even washable pads. They do not contain chemicals. Do not smoke cigarettes as they contain dioxins and minimize the use of chlorine bleached products in your home or better yet, use environmentally friendly products. Eat organic foods instead of processed
