Top 5 Reasons People Fail in Multi-Level Businesses

Throughout my journey from failure to success, I have discovered that there are 5 main reasons why people end up failing in the MLM business. In my opinion, the top 5 reasons are: lack of leads, lack of money, not putting in enough time, their mindset when they start, and lack of training.

I have placed lack of leads in the number one position because without leads all you have is a website and a product. Most people starting out don’t have a large circle of influence over people. Even if they do, once they launch their list their business is dead because they don’t have the training to drive people to them and then to your business opportunity.

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “do you need money to make money?” This is where the lack of money comes into play. If you find an opportunity where you don’t have to spend money, in my opinion it is illegal or a scheme of some kind.

There is a big difference between time and lack of time. During the years that I have been involved in an Internet business, I have met many people who really want to be successful and make a difference using an Internet business. They did not put in the time and effort necessary to be successful. Many people treat internet business as a hobby instead of taking it seriously by treating it like a real business.

I have added the last two, mindset and training because sooner or later everyone goes through a process once they join an internet business.

So let’s break down the mindset, unless you were born and started working in an internet business first and foremost, your mindset is going to be the work mindset. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not trashing anyone’s JOB, but what I mean is there is one mindset for a job and a different mindset for owning a business. People who are just starting out unless they are business owners will have a learning curve in the way they think. The best reference I can give someone is the book: Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyoski. To learn more about this great book, visit amazon.com or barnes&noble.com. In this book, he draws a diagram showing the mindset transfer from work to business owner.

That flows right into the last reason and that is training. Anyone looking to own their own Internet business will need to start with different levels of training. I could write and recommend a lot of different links and people, but there would be a lot to write. The most important message that I am trying to send here is that it is extremely important to invest in yourself by gaining knowledge. The more training equals the more value you have to yourself and to others.

This is the key to internet marketing. To be able to offer value for free to other people who are just starting to become internet marketers.
