Top Important: The RAS: Automatic Pilot of the Unconscious Mind

Conscious Mind = CM

Unconscious mind = UM

Reticular Activating System = RAS

What is the autopilot? I have talked in previous articles about some secrets of UM, and that once you program it, it would work on autopilot. The UM is an automatic mind. Automatically responds to those programs that have found ways in. Once these programs run automatically, the autopilot process will start. Autopilot is about behaviors, thought processes, and actions performed automatically and continuously. An example of automatic responses is a phobia that is produced by an automatic behavioral process. There is no way to consciously control any phobia because it works automatically. The phobia is a negative example of automatic responses. However, we need positive autopilot processes that lead us to our goals and happiness. Autopilot has 2 types: mental and physical, which means that the process will result in either one. Creativity, intuition, and genius thinking are examples of mental autopilot. Higher energy and a stronger aura are examples of physical autopilot. Both autopilot processes result from the programming of the UM. Both can also occur simultaneously, under some extraordinary tools.

Question: How does UM create autopilot processes?

The Reticular Activating System (RAS):

It does this through the RAS, which is a very important part of the brain that only mammals possess. The RAS connects the upper and lower parts of the brain and also controls reflexes and involuntary functions. It is responsible for sleeping and dreaming. Our natural instincts, such as sex and food, depend on the RAS. The most fascinating thing about the RAS is that it is the administrator of consciousness since it has the function of regulating the transition from sleep to wakefulness and vice versa. More importantly, it is capable of filtering information received from the outside world and allows us to determine what information or thoughts we need to store. Research indicates that 99.99% of information is processed by UM, and these pieces of information go unnoticed because they are carried out unconsciously. This means that only the RAS decides for us which bits we can or cannot perceive. Therefore, the RAS is called “Automatic Target Finding Device”. You begin the autopilot process by searching the outside world, your environment, for ways to achieve your goals, and then connecting you to these informative findings. It can be called a “Success Thermostat”.

Let me explain further: The outside world is full of all kinds of information, but the RAS looks for patterns of information that match your beliefs, intentions, and what you’re familiar with. It does not take into account unnecessary information. In this sense, it is like the Google search engine: you type what you need to search for and Google starts searching according to your words (criteria). However, the RAS, unlike Google, is not limited to looking for the details. Once the RAS finds a match, it alerts its CM and then links its thoughts and feelings to the environmental match. This means that once you find the required information, you will also start moving to achieve these goals. It also means that the RAS also initiates its CM, towards those targets (those matches it found). Because it was programmed by your thoughts or intentions, it only produces according to them. This means that the judgments are a reflection of your inner thinking. This explains why people react differently to the same event. Some will see difficulties while others will perceive opportunities, from the same event.

Autopilot Process Example: If you want money as the main target, your RAS will start searching for all money related information, even while you sleep, and ignore irrelevant information, and then make you see and act on the details found. It can even give you dreams about that goal that can be quite inspiring or revealing. Remember that some scientists (including Edison) discovered breakthroughs during their dreams. That is one of the main functions of the RAS autopilot. That is precisely what is meant by Autopilot. One caveat, though, is that it can work against you if you don’t program it correctly. Because it was programmed by you, by your types of thoughts, your RAS can work against you based on your beliefs. If you think most of the time about something you don’t want, you are somehow programming your RAS to look for what you don’t want because it is based on your beliefs and thoughts. This is another example of why it is necessary to get rid of negative thoughts.

Key facts:

1-The autopilot is a function of the RAS.

2-The RAS is under the total control of the UM.

3- The UM works all the time: Because the UM works all the time, this explains why the autopilot process continues to work, day or night, consciously or unconsciously. The RAS’s ability to search and classify information according to beliefs and thoughts allows a person to search for their goals 24 hours a day. Knowing how to program the UM and activate the RAS will start the autopilot process. This is the secret discovered and used by many successful people.

Knowing how to look for goals also needs to know how to activate the UM. We need to use those tips and tools to activate the autopilot process. These tools can be learned and used, as we will see later.
