Weekly Review: Heaven’s Lost Property

“Peace and quiet are the best.” These are the words Tomoki lives by. He’s your average teenager, doing average teenager stuff. Sure, he’s a bit of a pervert, but who could blame his poor raging hormones. Our story revolves around his daily life, exciting right? Well, there’s the childhood friend who lives across the street who has a habit of karate chopping off his head every time he performs one of his perverted acts. That is always entertaining. Then there’s the strange pseudoscientist who calls himself Eishiro. He’s a bit weird; he actually starts each episode off with some sort of history lesson, then continues with a bit about the “New World.” Oh yes, the “New World” is his absolute obsession. Last but not least, we have Mikako. She’s the utterly sadistic student body class president, and her family is practically the mob. That makes up about half of our main characters.

The history in fact begins one night when Tomoki was supposed to meet with Eishiro to see a strange formation in the sky that was supposed to pass over their town. Instead, Tomoki is there alone whenever he gets a warning phone call from Eishiro to get out of there! The strange formation centers on Tomoki and it’s like a light show, something quite interesting happens. Tomoki finds, at the bottom of a huge hole, a beautiful angelic humanoid named Ikaros. She insists that she is something called a “Pet-Type Angeloid” and that Tomoki is now her master. She will do whatever he requires and can grant him any wish, and she has big breasts.

So now we have a kinky teen with a beautiful humanoid that will grant you any wish you want, pretty solid. Of course, his first wishes are incredibly stupid, at least from our point of view. As a result of one of his wishes, for example, he ends up running naked through the whole town. Then he accidentally wishes everyone dead and gone. However, he is great, because then he wishes that everything was a dream and that nullifies everything, that everyone is dead.

From here on out, I’ll let you discover the story. You pretty much get acts of randomness, followed by more humanoids spawning, and then more randomness. Let’s take Ikaros, she’s a very quirky character, then randomly she gets really mean, then she goes back to… quirky. The other humanoids that make their way to our characters are just as interesting.

Overall this anime is okay. It’s more for a good laugh than a deep story. If you’re looking for a good story, keep moving, but if a good laugh is your thing, give it a try. The character’s dialogue, especially Tomoki’s, is unfiltered, which means that she speaks like almost any teenager. This can lead to some fun scenes and interactions with all the other characters.
