A typical Powerball prize is $40 million with a second tier prize of $1 million. All winning tickets cost $2, and a PowerPlay option is available for $1. The prize will be split among winners in the POWERBALL states. In addition, the prize amount will be split between winners in the state where the prize was won. The prize pool will then roll over to the next drawing.
