How to get to the first page in Google

Step 1 – Research Keywords

When you have something useful for people, you will need keywords to drive them to your website. Your keyword can be one word, many words, or phrases. Multiple words and phrases work better because they’re more specific, which is nice for potential customers because they can find you more easily this way. Keywords also help give you a better search engine ranking.

Now, you will need to brainstorm your keywords; also think about alternative keywords. Have a list of around 30 keywords/phrases. Pick two keyword phrases that you think are searched for the most. Remember, the more competition you have, the harder you will have to work to get to the top 10 of search engine results. This means that you should choose two keyword phrases that are relevant to your business and not used as often.

Step 2 – Web Copy

The text you see on websites is called web copy. For that reason, you will need to strategically place your keywords/phrases on the web page to convince search engines that your material is highly relevant. Keep in mind that your customers still need to come first. Here are five ways you can improve search engine rankings with your keywords:

– Place keyword in headers
– Keywords should be at the top of the page.
– Keywords in bold when necessary
– Don’t have links that guide readers to other pages, just rephrase the content with keywords.
– Keywords must be an HTML title tag; do it yourself or have someone else do it

Once you’re done, add new content that includes current descriptions and other information about your products/services. If you can’t write or don’t have time, use article directories that can provide them to you for free. Remember… images are nice, but search engines can only read text.

Step 3 – Bonding

When websites have links, they will drastically improve search engine rankings. The reason for this is that the bots will see the number of links and determine their popularity. Still, it is the quality of the links and not the quantity of links that makes the difference. Make sure the other links on the website are relevant to the content on your website. Visit the different websites that are relevant to you to get guaranteed search engine rankings; write letters, describing in detail how your visitors could benefit from learning about your business, and request that they generate a link back to your site.

You will now need to monitor the rankings by typing in your chosen keywords. If you find it’s missing, make changes to improve search engine rankings. Always keep the site up to date and increase the number of links you have to your site. As you get better search engine rankings, you will see an increase in traffic, which should eventually turn into sales.
