London Stations

London is home to a number of train stations that serve different lines of service.

St. Pancras

St. Pancras International is a railway terminal in central London. The station is managed by Network Rail and Eurostar. It has 15 platforms and is located in Travelcard Zone 1. The East Midlands, First Capital Connect, Eurostar and Southeastern trains run through the station and Eurostar offers services to Lille, Paris and Brussels. London Underground lines, including the Circle, Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan, Northern, Piccadilly and Victoria lines serve the station. Writer Simon Cadler has described the station as “the most wonderful train station in the world.”

Charing Cross

London Charing Cross is one of the main London Underground and train stations. The station is located in Travelcard Zone 1 and Network Rail manages the operations of 6 platforms and the London Underground manages 4 platforms at the station. It is the fifth busiest railway terminal in London and is located near the Embankment and The Strand. Underground operations are served by the Bakerloo Line and Northern Line and the rail trains are operated by South and Southeast trains.

London bridge

London Bridge Station is one of London’s oldest train and tube stations in Southwark. This station is located in Travelcard Zone 1 and has 15 platforms and is the fourth busiest railway terminal in London. The tube station is on the Northern Line and Jubilee lines. Surface services are offered by Thameslink, Southern Trains and South East Trains. This station is the main interchange in South London.

Waterloo

Waterloo Station is a railway terminal and underground complex in Lambeth. It is the busiest train station in Great Britain and is located in Travelcard Zone 1 with 19 platforms. The station’s history dates back to 1848 and it is located near the south bank of the River Thames. It is one of the busiest terminals in Europe and is served by South West Trains, Southeastern Trains and Eurostar. Bakerloo, Northern, Jubilee, Waterloo and City Lines serve the station.

King’s Cross

Kings Cross Station is a central London railway terminal managed by Network Rail. The station was opened in 1852 and is located in the Kings Cross district with 12 platforms. It is Travelcard Zone 1 and is the southern terminus of the East Coast Main Line. This station shares the underground complex with St Pancras station, thus forming one of the largest transport hubs in Great Britain. First Hull Trains, East Coast, Grand Central, First Capital Connect and British Rail Eastern Region trains operate through the station. The Circle, Hammersmith and City, Metropolitan, Northern, Piccadilly and Victoria lines serve the station.
