Optimal landing pages for conversions

In my experiences years ago, I was always looking for ways to monetize my website landing pages. He was selling dog training e-books and instructional videos. I thought I had the secret to finding website traffic by buying it, which was another mistake, but once I had a flow of traffic, the more I tried, the more I continually failed to get conversions and sales.

So I stopped and thought a lot about what I was doing. I was constantly sending new visitors to my website with no clear direction in mind. I was simply trying to sell my products to new visitors before I even knew who they really were. In my case, I was expecting a lot of immediate conversions and money flooding into my account, however, I was wasting valuable targeted visitors due to my lack of understanding of the basics of marketing my website. This is a very hard lesson that I learned over a period of a few years, on several different websites. And of course this may seem obvious to you, but now it’s so obvious to me that so many webmasters have no idea how to control their visitors and haven’t really learned how to master the art of marketing their products or services.

The best thing you can do with your landing page is to have a lead capture form or a strong call to action. This way you have one of two options:

1) You can prompt the visitor to enter their name and email address for your records, which will allow you to build a large customer list

2) You can call them to action to sign up for a service, register, or visit another page.

As in point 1, the reason you should have a lead capture form is to build a large email list of customers, otherwise once they leave your website they will rarely come back. An email list allows you to send them information that can be very useful and respond to their reasons for visiting your site. It may also give you the opportunity to market different products to them in the future.

It is very important to build as close a relationship as possible with your visitor. What I mean by this is try to understand the reasons why they came to your site. If you can be in a position to offer your visitor exactly what they are looking for, then you are in a great position to control what action they can take next.

Using emotion on your landing page has been statistically proven to be successful in marketing. Building that bond and the special reason why your product or service is so important will go a long way to your success.
The feel, feel, find method works quite well. For example: “I know how it feels to have shoe soles coming off or worn shoes. I was wearing a pair of shoes one night with a strap on the left one that broke. It felt horrible and embarrassing. Then I discovered these great shoes with a guarantee that they really make me feel good about wearing them and people even comment on them.”

Since my early days with websites, I have now realized where my flaws lie. I now have several websites that perform very well and effective conversions are now much easier. I have developed an interest in MLM business and network marketing. However, it is the marketing of those online businesses through websites that interests me the most.
