Dog Ear Infection: Treatment And Advice For Yeast Infection

You may have heard of apple cider vinegar being used for natural remedies in people, but have you heard of its use for your dog’s health? More importantly, did you know that it can be used for dog ear infection treatment? Apple cider vinegar helps with gas, aids digestion, constipation, and many other ailments. It can even be used to detect mosquitoes and other pesky bugs! But best of all, the yeast from your dog’s ear infection can’t grow in it!

Many herbalists recommend the use of apple cider vinegar. It is recommended that you purchase vinegar made from organically grown, cold-pressed apples to get the benefit of natural enzymes.

In its most natural form, apple cider vinegar is a natural antibiotic and antiseptic. It is even used to treat meals!

There are many other benefits to using apple cider vinegar. It is known to reduce common infections, prevent muscle fatigue after exercise, increase resistance to disease, and protect against food poisoning. Cider vinegar is very rich in vitamins and goodness found in fresh apples, especially potassium, which helps balance acid levels in the stomach. Most important of all for dog ear infection, however, is the inability of yeasts to grow in apple cider vinegar, or anywhere near it. Dog ear infection treatment can be very effective with apple cider vinegar, although as a warning it can sting the dog’s ears, especially in a serious dog ear infection when unfortunately you may need antibiotics to start the healing process. When your dog’s ear infection is healing, you can use the solution below to keep your dog’s ears clean, and more importantly, yeast-free!

Now you know how things are. If your dog has pointy ears, he’s less likely to have a fungal dog ear infection, but more likely to have infections caused by debris, and if he has floppy ears, then it’s vice versa. Typical. Some dogs have furry ears that are very susceptible to canine yeast ear infection and other types of canine ear infection. Dogs that swim a lot and lead active outdoor lives will be in danger. Furthermore, yeast is always present in the dog’s body and is ready to act on any number of triggers. Dogs like humans have ups and downs, and it’s often the downs when the yeast monster attacks.

Now, if your dog has a canine ear infection and it is candidiasis, it will be quite obvious, not only will it let you know, but the smell will confirm any doubts. With canines, dog ear infection sets in quickly. Some vets will prescribe ear drops, others will give you antibiotics as a treatment for your dog’s ear infection. Antibiotics kill both bad and good bacteria, reducing your pet’s resistance to future attacks. That’s why I’ve included the top three tips I’ve used to treat my dogs for over three years.

Other treatments you can use now include the following:

1. To get rid of thrush you need to buy some apple cider vinegar and make a 25/75 solution of vinegar and water i.e. 1x vinegar to 3x water. This should be placed in a container so that it can be “dropped” into the pet’s ears. You know, an ear drop device! 5 drops in each ear two or three times a day. If you get ear drops from the vets, it’s basically the same but without the chemicals.

2. A second method that I have found very helpful for dog ear infection is crushed garlic in organic olive oil. I take a clove, crush it and chop it, then put it in two tablespoons and let it sit for an hour or two or until all the garlic has sunk to the bottom. Put a few drops in your dropper and in the dogs ears as gently as you can. It’s important to make fresh batches of this each time. Garlic can be harmful to dogs if left in the oil for more than a day.

3. Another solution to help soothe the ears during a dog ear infection is to buy organic, plain and probiotic yogurt, it should be all of these and it should state on the tub that it contains active strains of bacteria. Apply a small amount to your dog’s ears and rub in well. This contains natural bacteria to kill yeast and is soothing to your pets’ ears.

I have used all three of these methods to maintain an environment in which a yeast infection simply cannot take hold. Unfortunately, people forget to keep their dog’s ears healthy until it’s too late. Yeast infections in dogs are painful for your dog, so always be careful when using these methods.
