Do you need to make a career change after fifty?
In my opinion, it is much easier for young people to make career changes. Younger adults may be more flexible, have fewer current obligations, and have an easier time getting hired. However, there are still some good careers for middle-aged people to consider. These jobs offer reasonable wages, on-the-job training, and the chance to start over after age 50!
Many older job seekers can’t afford to go back to school for very long. That’s why I tried to find suggestions that offer on-the-job training so employees can start earning money while learning their new jobs. I also choose jobs that offer reasonable wages for people who already have some financial obligations and hope to save money for retirement.
Finally, I wanted to select jobs that were actually available. These are all real jobs that my online visitors or friends got when they needed to change careers in mental life. sales jobs
Many people say they would be horrible at sales, and yet they may actually have very good sales skills. Every sales person doesn’t have to engage in cold calling or high-pressure tactics. It really helps if you like your work and believe in your products. Some sales jobs also lead to promotions, which could land you in a managerial position if that’s your desire.
Furniture Retail Stores
Consider furniture stores. If you get a job in the right place, you have the opportunity to start earning a good income quickly. If you have the skills, you can also be promoted to manager, either in a store or in the corporate office. I have met several older workers, from teachers to bank managers, who ended up enjoying their second careers in furniture sales. And yes, they have moved to various types of management. Better yet, they all started working at a furniture store when they were in their 50s.
Finance and Insurance
Insurance and finance are another industry that has room for older professionals. If you are interested in these subjects and you like people, you may be able to start a flexible and profitable new career. Many states only require one test to license insurance agents, and most people can pass this test after taking a course that is only a few hours long. The key to success is finding a good brokerage or insurance company that will train you.
Medical care and services
We keep hearing that the healthcare industry is booming. It is, and it provides good jobs for many more professionals than just doctors and nurses. They need administrators, managers, billing people and much more to take care of patients. You don’t need to go to medical school to work in the medical field!
