Telepathy for beginners: how to start being telepathic

Communication by means other than the senses is called telepathy. It consists of transmitting and receiving information to and from the mind of another person. We all know from experience that these things happen. Here is an example of telepathy.

I was planning to take a trip to a foreign country a few months ago. I ordered my plane ticket and received the flight details with the name of the airport where the plane was supposed to take off. On the big day, before heading to the airport I checked my flight one more time, just to make sure everything was okay, and was surprised to see that my plane had headed to another airport in the city.

That was a surprise because I had checked the day before and there had been no changes yet. Fortunately this didn’t interfere with my plan and everything went well – I got to the airport just in time to catch the plane – but this incident made me take a moment and think more deeply about the connections that the human mind can make with other minds. In this case, the message may have been sent to me spontaneously by someone who found out about the change before I did or by airport staff.

This was a typical example of spontaneous telepathy, the kind of connection that is established regardless of the will of the receiver or sender. However, telepathy can be practiced intentionally and the effects are the same. A message reaches the receiver because the sender wants him to receive it and mentally concentrates on that purpose. This is called deliberate telepathy and there is a very good exercise beginners can do to learn how it works.

Here is a typical telepathy exercise for beginners. Choose someone you feel comfortable with, a very good friend with whom you have a lot in common. It’s easier to send and receive information to and from someone you know well. Your friend should sit in the opposite corner of the room. Take a pack of cards and start looking at one of them, trying to make your friend “receive” the image of that same card. Your friend will then write down his impression of this attempt of yours. Do the same with another card, and so on, until you have ‘sent’ the images of the entire deck of cards to the receiver. Check your friend’s notes to see if he or she has the correct messages. Then reverse the roles and be the recipient yourself. In this way, you can understand how good both of you are as senders and receivers. After practicing this with all the cards two or three times, you should take a break so you don’t get bored. When you have seen some improvement in the quality of the messages sent, you can also practice this exercise remotely if you and your friend agree on a certain time and each tries to send an image for five minutes. The next time you meet, you can compare the results.

Some people are better senders; others can receive messages more easily. There are also a certain number of people who can do both at a very high level. They say that ‘practice makes perfect’, which is also quite true about telepathic exercises. The more you practice, the more details you will be able to send or receive, and over time you will be able to “manipulate” more complex thoughts between you and your partner.
