What is a Hasbro Furreal Squawkers McCaw Parrot?

Let’s be honest; Owning a parrot can be very expensive. Prices for most talking parrots, like the Blue and Gold Macaws, range from $800 to a couple thousand dollars, and to top it off you have food, cages or aviaries, a variety of toys, and vet bills.

Don’t get me wrong, the real deal can be a wonderful pet. To avoid a lot of the expense, the Hasbro Furreal Squawkers Mccaw Parrot could be a second choice and a lot less care and maintenance. Recommended for children ages 5-10, this parrot is well loved by adults too!

The Hasbro FurReal Squawkers have velvet like green, yellow/gold and stunning blue feathers and the lines under the eyes are just like the blue and gold macaws of Central America. A little smaller than the real thing at only 12″ tall. Although for a toy parrot it is very intelligent.

Just like with a real parrot, you can teach Hasbro Furreal Squawkers Mccaw Parrot to speak and he will repeat the words you say to him, so be careful. His feet are connected by a joint that can rotate, allowing him to stand on a perch or stand on a flat surface. Thanks to innovative animatronics, he can flap his wings when he’s excited and tilt his head when he’s puzzled and even sing and dance to music.

Just like a real macaw, they can squawk to the best of their ability when they get angry or trying to get your attention. It has a highly developed voice detection system and has its own way of responding to “Hello” or “Are you hungry”, which will make you laugh out loud. It can be programmed to sing, answer almost any question, or anything else you want it to say using the remote that comes with it. This bird also comes with its own biscuit for when it needs to be fed, how does that keep the cost down?

The Squawkers Mccaw Parrot can be just as lively, moody and very playful as the real Blue and Gold Macaws and a lot less messy. He already has a vocabulary of 45 words, phrases and sound effects and of course his signature song and dance “Squawk, Squawk, Squawk”. By teaching additional words and phrases, just as he would the real parrot, he can even train Squawkers to respond.

The big differences between these two parrots are the cost, maintenance, and care that they both need. With proper care, both can provide loads of unpredictable fun and pleasure for the whole family.
